classes & courses

The practices of Yoga are like a toolbox of skills. When we practise these skills regularly, we become better able to look after ourselves, by developing a healthy body, that moves well, and a focused mind. But the practices are not limited to physical and mental health - they also help us to explore the deepest aspects of ourselves, and ultimately, to connect with the mystery of who we really are. When we start to discover and integrate all the levels of our being - spiritual, mental, emotional and physical - we live life more fully, we are more open to the best of ourselves, to the world around us, and so to helping make the world a better place for us all. If you want to go deeply into the practices of yoga, to work with yourself attentively and compassionately, and to find ways of taking yoga off the mat and into daily life, these classes are for you!

Meditation Course - monthly sessions in Stroud

This is a monthly meditation class held in Stroud on Friday evenings to learn, practise and deepen your experience of some meditation techniques from the Yoga tradition. Each session is structured around a particular theme (eg the breath). There is also some movement, and time to make notes, share experience and ask questions. I provide guidance and support for practising between sessions, so that you can build on your practice and incorporate it into daily life. The class is suitable for anyone interested in developing themselves. Meditation practices increase awareness, which means we are more alive to the present moment, and more connected to ourselves and the world around us. They also help to improve concentration and memory, clarity and focus, and our overall mental and emotional balance.

Yoga and Walking Holiday in Spain, 21-27 May 2017

A week of yoga, meditation and guided walks in the hills of Andalusia, above Seville. Held at the very special www.fincaelmoro.com/yoga.

There will be two daily yoga classes, and meditation and yoga nidra sessions each day, taught with the very lovely Rebecca Allen. We trained together, are good friends, and love to work together!

All meals included. The food is delicious, organic, and much of it is grown on the farm. Nick will lead guided walks through the rolling hills, flower meadows and sweet chestnut groves.

An idyllic retreat from the speed and pressures of modern living.

Contact me for more details or to express your interest.

"I took part in the Finca El Moro yoga week with Rebecca, Frankie and Shona.  I am a relative beginner to Yoga but found the teaching supportive and very informative I never felt uncomfortable or excluded by my lack of knowledge and ability.  The holiday had attracted me because as well as the yoga it is set in the most fantastic national park where we had wonderful guided walks to small unspoilt villages for lunch or a drink.  The wild flowers were amazing and our guide was very informative always pointing out things of interest.
I also have to mention the food.  The standard of the catering was extraordinary.  We were treated to wonderful local dishes all made with wonderful seasonal local ingredients - washed down with a really delicious local wine.  I am not sure I have ever stayed anywhere with such consistently good food." Hilary, London 2016 holiday
