satyananda yoga
Yoga and Meditation in the tradition of the Bihar School of Yoga. This School of Yoga provides a systematic and accessible approach, which is suitable for everybody. It is firmly rooted in tradition, and adapted to the needs of modern living.
I offer weekly classes, one-to-one sessions, full day sessions and classes or workshops for the workplace. I am also a teacher trainer, and a class assessor for new teachers.
Classes generally last 1½ hours. Each class includes a balanced programme of postures (asana), breathwork (pranayama), and deep relaxation (Satyananda Yoga nidra) or a meditation practice (dharana).
Satyananda Yoga places special emphasis on developing awareness and self-acceptance. We have a particular style of teaching which tends to be slow and careful, making injuries unlikely. It is a therapeutic, integral and holistic system which uses practices to influence and harmonise all levels of the personality. The emphasis is more towards a meditative approach and the spiritual aspects of yoga.
For beginners courses, no experience is needed. For general courses, a minimum of two years, preferably in the Satyananda tradition.
I also offer individual sessions on a one-off or on-going basis. These can be very helpful if you cannot make it to a regular weekly class, or have specific needs you would like to address. Satyananda Yoga has a deep understanding of the therapeutic benefits of yoga and so lends itself to working in this way very well.
If you are interested in individual classes, contact me for more details.
For those who would like to go deeper into their practice I offer whole and half day sessions. More time and space gives us a great opportunity to explore aspects of yoga in more depth.

Weekly classes and one-off workshops are available. Yogic practices significantly improve physical, mental and emotional well-being in the work-place. These sessions provide an invaluable space for staff to learn simple and effective techniques for greater concentration, clarity, and efficiency, even when under pressure.
